Rose Bed Marriage Proposal in the Mountains

I have such a soft spot for marriage proposals. I love making an occasion out of every day moments, so when there is an opportunity to make an occasion out of something HUGE, such as a marriage proposal? Count me all in!

It took a team of 4 people to hike 300 roses, a picnic and some furniture, up into a mountain valley way, way up above Hatcher Pass at the base of this glacial lake.

We created a little romantic picnic scene with flowers, a cozy spot to curl up and some tasty treats for the couple to enjoy.

What I loved most about this plan is that the couple came to Alaska on vacation and they were together the entire trip. He didn't have a moment to sneak away to set up a romantic scene for her - let alone, hike way up into the mountains with all of these roses and furniture to set it up and surprise her.

That's where we come in. Like magic. The couple was out hiking and enjoying a beautiful day and just happened upon a beautiful little scene set out just for them. Then it was all cleaned up like it never even happened.

Oh and by the way! She said "yes."

MEET REBECCA

Hey there! I am Rebecca, I was born and raised in Alaska. I have always been a party planner at heart, even from childhood.

In 2012, after some soul searching I realized my life long dream by founding La Boum Events. For me it is the perfect balance of my desire to be a working artist and my get-shit-done approach to life. I have a quick brain, I am great with details, I love a challenge and approach problem solving with a flexible attitude... it was a perfect fit.

When I am not working, I love to slow down and enjoy the simple Alaska life with my husband and kids. I am savoring the slow process of renovating an old farm house, running an urban homestead, and making wine.
